弥生時代初め頃の集落跡。日本で最も早く稲作農耕を開始した場所の一つとして有名です。現在は集落と水田が復元・整備されています。環濠に囲まれた集落ゾーンでは、弥生時代にタイムスリップした気分を味わえます。
　竪穴住居をイメージした板付遺跡弥生館では、弥生時代当時の人々の生活を、出土遺物の展示やジオラマ、映像で学ぶことができます。石包丁による穂首刈り体験や火起こし体験も楽しめます。

　毎年6月には田植え祭りが、10月には収穫祭が開催されています。

A settlement site from the early Yayoi period, these ruins are famous as one of the places in Japan where wet-rice cultivation first began. Today, the village and paddy fields have been reconstructed and maintained. In the settlement zone encircled by a moat, you can feel as if you’ve slipped back in time to the Yayoi era.
At the Itazuke Historical Ruins Yayoikan—whose design evokes pit-dwellings—you can learn about the lives of people in the Yayoi period through displays of excavated artifacts, dioramas, and video. You can also enjoy hands-on activities such as harvesting rice ears with a stone sickle and making fire.
Every June a rice-planting festival is held, and every October there is a harvest festival.
