住吉神社の北側ある日本庭園。明治時代に建てられた博多商家の別荘を茶室棟として改築し、
その中に当時の茶室を「楽水庵」として復元しています。戦後には旅館「楽水荘」として使用されてきましたが、平成7(1995)年に福岡市によって日本庭園に整備されました。茶室では庭園の四季の移り変わりを楽しみながら、お茶とお菓子（有料）をいただけます。
　敷地内には、豊臣秀吉（とよとみひでよし）による太閤町割りの際に神社・仏閣や豪商の屋敷に築かれた博多塀（はかたべい）が復元されています。

A Japanese garden located on the north side of Sumiyoshi Shrine. A villa of a Hakata merchant built in the Meiji era was remodeled into a tea-house wing, within which the tea room of that time has been reconstructed as “Rakusui-an.” After the war it was used as an inn called “Rakusui-so,” but in 1995 (Heisei 7) it was renovated by Fukuoka City to become a Japanese garden. In the tea room, visitors can enjoy tea and sweets (for a fee) while taking in the seasonal changes of the garden.

Within the grounds, a section of “Hakata-bei,” the earthen walls constructed for the residences of shrines, temples, and wealthy merchants during Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s town planning (the Taikō chōwari), has been restored.

Opening hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Closed: Tuesdays (if Tuesday is a holiday, the following day), and New Year period (Dec 29–Jan 1)
